| Deborah
Mitchell, Ph.D. is a psychologist with a full-time private
practice in San Francisco. Her involvement in The Ryder Foundation
is distinct from her professional pursuits. She was inspired to
create The Ryder Foundation out of witnessing her close friends
Jenny and Jim DeMaria’s unwavering determination in finding
a cure for their son Ryder, who was diagnosed with autism when he
was two years old. |
| |
| Jenny
DeMaria lives in Marin County, California, with her husband
Jim and her two children Ryder and Skye. Jenny left the corporate
sector in 2002 to be a full-time mom. When Ryder was diagnosed with
autism in 2004, Jenny extensively researched effective alternative
treatments for autism. Two years after starting various bio-medical
interventions, Ryder no longer meets the criteria for autism. He
is expected to make a full recovery. |

| Maureen
Block
is a full-time mother living in Marin County with her husband and
two children. Maureen left investment banking law in 1999 to have
children. At 18 months old, her first son, Nathaniel, exhibited
many of the signs and symptoms of autism. He received a PDD diagnosis
before turning 2. After four and a half years of bio-medical intervention,
movement therapy, love and determination, Nat no longer meets the
criteria for autism and is happily in Kindergarten. |
