We have helped fund The Rimland Center for Integrative Medicine, which is an autism-focused health center where patients, families, and interested medical professionals can receive the individual care and education they so desperately need. Far more than just a doctor’s office, the Rimland Center includes not only exam rooms and lab equipment but also a state-of-the-art hyperbaric oxygen therapy center and a demonstration kitchen where families and doctors can learn first-hand how to implement the diets - gluten-free, casein-free, special carbohydrate - that have the potential to change their children’s lives. Their new mentoring center is international in scope, helping to bring the Defeat Autism Now! biomedical approach - autism is treatable, recovery is possible - to clinicians from around the globe.

The Ryder Foundation is a supporter of Generation Rescue. Generation Rescue is an international movement of scientists, physicians and parent-volunteers researching the causes and treatments for autism and mentoring thousands of families in recovering their children from autism. They are at the heart of the “Autism is Treatable” campaign, and they have produced a beautiful documentary, Autism Yesterday, which features the eldest children of Maureen Block and Jenny DeMaria, both of whom are testament to the fact that autism is reversible.

We have also supported the National Autism Association. The mission of the National Autism Association is to educate and empower families affected by autism and other neurological disorders, while advocating on behalf of those who cannot fight for their own rights. They strive to educate society that autism is not a lifelong incurable genetic disorder but one that is biomedically definable and treatable. We have contributed to their Helping Hand program, which offers financial aid to autism families in need. The financial hardship that accompanies children with autism can be overwhelming, and much of the treatment is not covered by insurance. Additionally, we have contributed to the California chapter of NAA, allowing them to update and distribute their massive directory of resources and services for autistic children in the Bay Area.
