The Ryder Foundation funds research that investigates
the link between environmental toxins and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
We support SafeMinds, a private nonprofit organization
founded to investigate and raise awareness of the risks to infants
and children of exposure to mercury from medical products, including
thimerosal in vaccines. SafeMinds conducts scientific, peer-reviewed
research and is the recipient of grants from the National Institutes
of Health. See www.safeminds.org for a complete list of research.

The Ryder Foundation funds research aimed at establishing
empirically-proven treatments for autism. We support
the Autism Research Institute (ARI). ARI’s focus has been
on effective treatments for autism. After years of intensive study
of scientific literature and analysis of case reports from thousands
of parents of autistic children, physicians and scientists at
ARI have formulated empirically-supported bio-medical interventions
for autism: the Defeat Autism Now! (DAN!) protocol.

The Ryder Foundation funds programs that assist low-income
families in getting treatments, therapies and supplies. We
support the National Autism Association (NAA). The NAA funds programs
that help families in financial and emotional need. For example,
the Family First Fund refurbishes and donates computers to families
who cannot afford them. By having internet access, these families
have access to information about treatments and interventions
for autism and to support networks of parents and caregivers.

The Ryder Foundation funds programs that help local autistic
and developmentally challenged children reach their full potential.
We support the Oak Hill School in Marin County, CA.
The Oak Hill School is committed to working in partnership
with families to inspire children with developmental challenges
to become active and passionate learners through an environment
that promotes curiosity, flexibility, initiative and closeness
to others.
